Private Pilot License Course (PPL)

Congratulations you have discovered the first step in your aviation adventure! With this licence you will be able to fly a Single Engine Land Aircraft upto 5700 kg (12,500 lbs). Additional ratings can be added to this license which include Night, Instrument, Multi-Engine and Single-Engine Sea-Plane Ratings. The Private Pilot License (PPL) is the first step in your aviation adventure!

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Category 1 or 3 Transport Canada Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 17 years of age (14 for first solo)

Training Requirements:

There are 5 components to a private license you will need to complete in order to get your license.

  • A minimum of 40 hours of pilot ground school completed
  • A pass of the Transport Canada PPAER pilot written exam
  • The completion of 45 flight hours (flight experience requirement)
  • A pass of the PPL flight test with a Transport Canada examiner
